Hello, and welcome to AMO Languages.

My name is Sarah Champniss, and I have been teaching English and Spanish for around 20 years in both the UK and Spain.

My teaching journey began in 2004 when I moved to the beautiful island of Menorca shortly after the birth of my son. Looking for a career that would allow me to support my family while doing something I loved, my mum encouraged me to complete a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification. It turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made.

After successfully qualifying, I began teaching English to local Spanish children. It was an incredibly rewarding experience. As I helped my students develop their English, they helped me improve my Spanish. Living in Spain allowed me to immerse myself in the language and culture, strengthening both my Spanish and my passion for teaching.

I have lived with a physical disability all my life, and throughout my career I have learned the importance of adapting, persevering and finding opportunities that allow me to do what I love. Teaching has always given me that opportunity. It enables me to share my passion for languages while working in a way that supports my mobility needs.

When I relocated to the UK in 2013, I worked in a variety of roles but unfortunately experienced several redundancies. Rather than allowing those setbacks to discourage me, I decided to build something of my own.

In 2020, I founded AMO Languages with the aim of providing high-quality online Spanish tuition and creating resources that help students learn with confidence. By teaching online, I can continue doing the job I love while offering students the flexibility to learn from wherever they are.

Today, I teach both GCSE students and adult learners, helping them build confidence through engaging lessons, clear explanations and carefully designed learning resources.

I believe that every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement and teaching approach. My goal is to make learning Spanish enjoyable, accessible and rewarding for every learner.
